Brian Regan- Greeting Cards

Life has been pretty stressful lately, and it seems like I haven't done much laughing.  But this cracked me up.  And I think I could actually use some of those "Old Baby" cards, since I've gotten so bad at sending anything on time any more.  Anyway, enjoy!

Asimbonanga/Biko

Tonight, I was reminded of a favorite memory.  When Kiddo was a little toddler, we listened to a lot of the Soweto Gospel Choir.  He liked to sing along, too, even though he didn't know what the words meant.  At the same time, he was going through a phase when he didn't understand why we didn't sing more in Sacrament meeting at Church, or why he couldn't request songs.  One Sunday, he was restless and being a little noisy, but we managed to distract him somewhat for a while.  Then, during a particularly quiet moment, he belted out, "ASIMBONANGA!!"  Of course, with all the children in our Church, many Sacrament meetings are noisy, but I wonder how many have been interrupted by a two-year-old singing a South African civil rights song.  :) Anyway, watch this video and see the Soweto Gospel Choir's amazingly beautiful rendition.

Mommies are the BEST

WOW, this made me cry!!! I just love this little girl.

I don't know about you, but my kiddos rarely express such appreciation for those simple acts of service their parents do every day. So if you ever feel taken for granted, know that *I* think you're awesome... or pretend that Sophia is *your* little kid telling *you* how wonderful *you* are... or make your kids watch this 'til they get the point... ;-)

Big thanks to my own Mommy for all those little things, and a million or so more... although she often didn't let me choose my clothes OR hairstyles, and it would have been a Pepsi she shared, not a "Coca-Cola!" ;-) LOVE YOU FOREVER!

At least he's honest!

I love this clip so much that I've been watching it every day! He looks so sweet and serious with those big, brown eyes. I can totally see my Kiddo saying the very same thing!

Just one more!

I couldn't resist. I love this one, too! And now my little boy likes it too, which just makes me happy.

For Heather, if she's reading...

This always makes me think of fun times with you!

Unfortunately, the "Yip Yip aliens discover a radio" segment is not on the aforementioned DVD. The included Yip Yips segment, in which they find a telephone, is cute, but just isn't quite as funny.

This makes me smile EVERY time

I really hope my sisters are checking my blog, because this was one of our all-time favorite Sesame Street segments. I am so thrilled it is on the "Sesame Street Old School (Vol. I)" DVD that we got the Kiddo for Christmas.

Hope you enjoy it, too!
